Make Me a New Face

I would like to share this with you. Neil Bulstrode , Consultant Plastic Surgeon and the Clinical Lead for Plastic Surgery at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children, has participated in the filming of a documentary by Ben Fogle that will be aired on BBC2 on Wednesday 9th June at 9-10pm . If you cannot watch it then, it will be repeated on BBC2 on Monday 14th June at 7-8pm . The documentary, titled Make Me a New Face , is about the charity trip to Ethiopia that Neil was part of; which saw a team of highly-skilled medical and surgical professionals travel to Addis Abeba in order to carry out surgery on children with severe facial disfigurement... A very worthwhile cause, as I am sure you will agree! The charity that organised this trip is called Facing Africa .

Grace Kelly Exhibition

The Grace Kelly Exhibition is currently on display at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. A collection of clothes, shoes, jewellery and bags worn by one of the most photographed women of the 20th century. She had a beautiful understated fashion sense and some of the film footage at the exhibition shows her wearing a number of items that are on display. She certainly brought them to life, and looked stunning in her Dior couture. The Hermes "Kelly bag" was named after her and is synonymous with classic beauty, as indeed was the woman herself. I would have loved to have seen Kelly's wedding dress on display, but sadly this was not to be. The designer Vera Wang descri

King of the Cup

Today I have a guest blogpost from my 17 year old football fan (and player) son, Jake. Rio Ferdinand has been ruled out of the World Cup , but England have a ready-made replacement in Ledley King . I believe the Tottenham captain is more than a decent replacement, as King was one of the stars of the Premiership as he led Tottenham to Champion's League football. Yes, Rio will be missed around the camp for his experience and humour, but I don't think he will really be that missed on the pitch. I believe that if Ledley King didn't have so many injury problems, he would be a certain starter for the England team on a regular basis. I have heard many different opinions such as "Now our captain's gone, that's it" and "big loss to lose a key man", but I still believe that Rios departure will not affect England's chances at the World Cup. Some fans have said that now the captain has gone, the team won't know how to play together and get informat
