The Grace Kelly Exhibition is currently on display at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.
A collection of clothes, shoes, jewellery and bags worn by one of the most photographed women of the 20th century. Grace Kelly appeared in many films along with Hollywood legends, such as Cary Grant, Bing Crosby, and Clark Gable. Grace met Prince Rainier of Monaco while attending the Cannes Film Festival and they married a year later.
The exhibition shows her transformation from Hollywood actress to Princess of Monaco. She had a beautiful understated fashion sense and some of the film footage at the exhibition shows her wearing a number of items that are on display. She certainly brought them to life, and looked stunning in her Dior couture. The Hermes "Kelly bag" was named after her and is synonymous with classic beauty, as indeed was the woman herself.
I would have loved to have seen Kelly's wedding dress on display, but sadly this was not to be. The designer Vera Wang described the wedding dress as being "majestic and demure"; once again, like the woman herself.
I would recommend a visit to the exhibition; the only downside was that I felt like I should rush out a buy a new frock and get my hair done as I felt really underdressed. Still, I'm neither a Hollywood actress or a princess.. yet!
